I woke up this morning, sent a few emails, worked on a mockup for a client, did a drive by at Steam to pick up coffee and headed out to search rows and rows of slabs for our kitchen countertops. One person’s dream is another person’s nightmare. This is my dream. After a year of curating the kitchen pinterest board, I pulled the trigger on a gorgeous soapstone mined right here in the good ‘ol USA. The kitchen is going to be everything I could imagine, and nothing like I’ve done before . . . or what I typically lean towards. It’s going to be simple and bold, and I luuuuve it. And there’s nothing like a stint in temporary housing during construction that will make me grateful for the modern conveniences the new kitchen will bring (like I’ve mentioned, we’re currently working with four outlets in the kitchen. 1955 at its finest).
With the kitchen design in full swing, the living room is on deck. We’re removing the wall in-between the kitchen and living, so I’ve gotta find pieces that will compliment and balance the kitchen. I have the kitchen table picked out, now I’m on the hunt for two living room chairs that will be by the current fireplace, across from a 2 seat sofa. I know I want leather, so when I came across these . . . well, I think I need. To quote the annoying Giuliana Rancic “totes gorge, right!?”
