- AROUND HERE WE CELEBRATE THE 3RD + THE 4TH -
my husband firmly believes firework shows are meant for him
We have a lot going on right now. Back-to-back family visits, weekends trips, work, work, work annnd more work. Sometimes my head begins to spin when I think of all the commitments we've made for the summer. But one thing we promised to always do is make each other's birthday's special, and just concentrate on that person and spend time together. So I packed a weeks worth of to-do's into one day on Monday, and prepared for Tuesday, July 3rd! Birthday brunch with homemade biscuit egg sandwiches and chocolate cake were requested. Homemade biscuits, easy peasy. Chocolate cake, never done that before. So, I got to bakin' Monday night. After nearly losing my mind and almost making chocolate biscuits (I wouldn't recommend making biscuits and cake at the same time), it was all done, and turned out pretty tasty thanks to recipes from Honey & Jam. So, the day went like this - coffee, brunch, mimosas, pool, presents!!!, happy hour, dinner, movie, and a late night run to pick up my sister from the airport (who doesn't love picking up their sister-in-law at 11p on their birthday??) And this day was followed up with a successful 4th of July pool party. Happy birthday, babe. Like I said, thanks for giving your love unconditionally and taking my eye rolls like a man ;)
